Future Cities

Our future cities combine information technology with buildings and urban infrastructure. Exciting collaborations between architects, planners, and technologists are transforming the ecosystems of city living: Tomorrowland is being built today. This town-hall discussion will explore the pressing issues facing civic leaders, private developers and city-residents as they try to imagine their shared spaces 10, 20, 50 years into the future. How can we harness the creativity and energy of cities in new ways that boldly develop innovation economies alongside more equitable and sustainable communities? How do we balance safety and privacy, the workplace and open green space, overcrowding and happy collisions? Who has access to connectivity, and how can new networks be used to generate “people power” and foster civic engagement?
