What does an interactive song look like? What is it like to compose a piece of music by defining its boundaries, designing its notation, and then letting it vary with each listener/user ––or with the weather? Can interaction itself be expressive?

Creative coding affords endless opportunity for musical and visual exploration, a space recently explored by musicians like Philip Glass to Jorge Drexler to Bjork.
In this workshop we will look into interacting with rhythm, melody, and harmony by playing with interactive examples. We will design our own experiences, and survey the technical means to implement them.

Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, but a phone or tablet will work too.
Beginners are welcome.

** If you successfully register for this workshop, please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. Those not in attendance 5-minutes before the session begins, may forfeit their spot to the next person on the waitlist.

By registering for a workshop, you acknowledge that Moogfest may share your email address with the instructor for the purpose of planning and coordinating this event.
