Ian Chang (Son Lux, Body Language, Landlady) demonstrates Sunhouse’s new technology for hybrid electronic percussion, Sensory Percussion. Every drum stroke is a complex world of its own. Each one produces a unique sound and timbral quality that depends not only on the shape and material of the drum and stick, but the gestures and intention of the drummer. Sensory Percussion captures this complexity and opens the door for drummers to expressively control electronic sonic environments. Ian will harness this expressive range to perform a living, breathing set of electronic music rooted in the physicality of drumming.
