Grouper
Liz Harris, aka Grouper, was born in Northern California and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. She self-released first album, Grouper, on CD-R in 2005. A year later she released Way Their Crept on Free Porcupine Records, re-releasing it in 2007 on Type Records. In addition to her several albums, she performed Violet Replacement, which was comprised of two extended tape collages that were first commissioned in New York and Berkeley. In 2012, she premiered Circular Veil, a collaboration with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma consisting of a sleep cycle depicted in eight hours of music. In 2013, Harris released The Man Who Died in His Boat. Her latest album, Ruins, came out in 2014.
