Jake Stauch

Jake is the CEO and founder of Neuro+, a venture-backed startup that’s developed a
brain-controlled video game to help kids improve their attention skills. Jake also founded
NeuroSpire, a company that builds software for testing advertising with EEG brain
scans. He previously worked as a researcher at the Duke Center for Cognitive
Neuroscience, where he investigated the neural correlates of attention processes. While
an undergraduate at Duke, Jake helped found InCube, a residential accelerator
program for student entrepreneurs. Jake now serves as a coach for
Duke's Melissa & Doug Entrepreneur Program, working directly with students on a
regular basis.
Neuro+ helps kids learn to pay attention using brain-controlled video games. Users
wear a headset that measures their brain activity and body movements, and play a
training video game that challenges them to focus and sit still. Kids are rewarded for
expressing focused patterns of brain activity. Over time, kids learn to improve their
concentration and gain self-control over their bodies.
