Mark Mothersbaugh

Mark Mothersbaugh is a founding member and frontman of the popular band DEVO. He has been a prolific visual and musical artist since before the band’s inception, with a diverse body of work that includes albums, soundtracks, drawings, sculptures, photographs, videos, prints, eyewear and rugs. Mothersbaugh created the often-imitated sound of Wes Anderson's beloved films with his scores to Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic. He also composed the musical scores for Pee-Wee's Playhouse, the Rugrats series and films, The Lego Movie, Hotel Transylvania, both 21 and 22 Jump Street and hundreds of other films, television series and advertisements. Myopia, the first retrospective of Mothersbaugh's visual art began touring museums in 2014. A book cataloguing his artistic endeavors, as well as his retail line of custom-designed eyewear, were released in conjunction with the exhibition.
